 POSITION: MANAGER INVENTORY & TRANSPORT (1 POST) 

REPORTS TO: SENIOR MANAGER - GENERAL ACCOUNTS
REPORTING OFFICE: HEAD OFFICE – DAR ES SALAAM

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Manage planning and coordination of inventory and transport services to meet the company’s business requirements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 Plan and determine/ calculate Economical Ordering Quantities of various materials to ensure that there are no stock out or overstocking
 Plan and monitor stock taking exercise to ensure that it is done according to statutory requirements, preset target and the stock taking results are submitted by 31st July every year for incorporation in the annual financial statements.
 Monitor and supervise audit exercise conducted by external auditors to ensure that all documents and information requested by the auditors are furnished and the audit work is performed smoothly and completed within targeted time

 Ensure annual company motor vehicles/cycles requirement and specifications are timely prepared in compliance with company transport policy and included in the budget and company annual procurement plan
 Manage the company fleet of vehicles effectively and in compliance with company transport policy to ensure that company’s motor vehicles are optimally utilized and their repair and maintenance are done efficiently and effectively
 Monitor operation of car tracking system as well as Transport Information Management System (TIMS) to ensure that there is control of repair and maintenance, there is no misuse of motor vehicles, fuel and report any discrepancy for immediate proper action.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
 Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Materials Management, Procurement & Logistics, Inventory Control Management or Procurement & Supply
 Post graduate qualifications in the relevant field will be an added advantage.
 Experience in Transport and Logistics Management is an added advantage
 Registered by PSPTB
 Five (5) years’ of relevant working experience.

REMUNERATION:
Competitive remuneration package shall be offered commensurate with skills and experience.

1. POSITION: INFORMATION SYSTEMS AUDITOR TRAINEE (1 POST) – RE-ADVERTISED

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL INFORMATION SYSTEM AUDITOR
REPORTING OFFICE: HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Information Systems auditor is responsible for conducting information technology audits that are designed to add value and improve effectiveness of ICT risk management, controls and governance processes. He/she will also be responsible in providing key inputs to development of ICT annual audit plan.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Assist Manager IS Audit in developing risk assessment and annual IS audit plan
b) Assessing performance of the Company network and recommend an action plan to prevent any possible breech;
c) Review the accuracy and efficiency of computer systems/applications such as Accounting System;
d) Performing follow up-audit reviews to determine the extent to which audit recommendations have been implemented;
e) Working together with the financial and operational auditors in performing integrated audits and IS audit reviews; and
f) Assisting other audit staff in using computerized audit techniques such as data analysis tools and audit management software

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
 Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science from recognized institution
 Registration with Other professional certification such as CISA, CIA etc. is an added advantage

2. POSITION: INTERNAL AUDITOR - TECHNICAL INSPECTION (1 POST) – RE ADVERTISED

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL INTERNAL AUDITOR - TECHNICAL INSPECTION
REPORTING OFFICE: HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Conducting Technical Audits including and without limitation; Meter & billing audits, project management audit, Generation, Transmission and Distribution audit, performance & operations audit and inspection of construction materials. The work involves evaluation of controls, governance and risk management process on technical areas.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Assessing the effectiveness and compliance to controls over metering; billing and revenue protection processes.
b) Verifying adherence to controls and procedures over operation and maintenance activities on generation, transmission and distribution systems
c) Assessing controls over project management process to ensuring that, Service Lines, Repair and Maintenance; and networks expansion works are carried out in accordance to Engineering Instruction and Approved Technical Standards.

d) Assessing compliance to regulatory rules and regulations, including customer service charter, EWURA, PPA, NEMC, Health and Safety rules, and report to the Management
e) Identifying technical and billing risks and providing key input in preparation of risk mitigation measures across the business.
f) Performing audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing documents and process, analysing evidence, conducting interviews, prepares working papers and documenting audit work.
g) Drafting audit reports expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, over processes under review and develop recommendations for possible improvement or remedial measures

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:
 Holder of BSc (Electrical Engineering) from an accredited college or university.
 Registration with engineering Board and other professional certification such as CIA is an added advantage.
 Adequate knowledge of and skills in applying Internal Auditing, Engineering and Technical Principles and Practices,
 Considerable knowledge of utility industry program, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
 Skill in collecting and analysing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions.

3. POSITION: INTERNAL AUDITOR – MATERIALS MANAGEMENT & PROCUREMENT (2 POSTS) – RE ADVERTISED 

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL INTERNAL AUDITOR- MATERIALS MANAGEMENT & PROCUREMENT
REPORTING OFFICE: HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Performs materials management auditing work which involves performing, financial, compliance, and materials management audit projects; and providing training and coaching to materials management auditors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Investigates on the causes of pilferage losses, discrepancies on stocks and verifies the accuracy of stock records, iScala system and bin cards.
b) Reports and advises on application of laid down procedures on store keeping, stock controls and purchasing.
c) Conducts interviews, reviews documents, develops and administers surveys, compose summary memos, and prepares working papers.

d) Identifies, develops, and documents audit issues and recommendations using independent judgement concerning areas being reviewed.
e) Provides or assists in providing training, coaching, and guidance to new employed internal audit staff in conducting audits and other audit-related issues.
f) Conducting procurement audit on goods, works, consultancy and non-consultancy services
g) Performs related work as assigned by Internal Audit Management.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:
 Holder of a Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Materials Management from recognized institution.
 Must be registered with PSPTB

4. POSITION: CIVIL ENGINEER TRAINEE (2 POSTS) 

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER TRANSMISSION
REPORTING OFFICE: TRANSMISSION - HEAD OFFICE

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Assist in undertaking Company’s civil Engineering works such as structural designs, calculations and drawing detailing, site supervision of buildings, substations and Power station buildings and any other civil works.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Develop, maintain and co-ordinate construction and maintenance plans for civil works undertaken by the company.
b) Produce valid and safe engineering/structural designs, calculations and working drawings on time using computer software for implementation of construction projects and civil engineering maintenance of existing facilities and infrastructure for the company.
c) Prepare technical standards and specifications for the design of civil and building works undertaken by the company to ensure the highest standards are maintained in executed works, taking particular note of the company’s engineering instructions.

d) Prepare specifications and preambles for submission to the PMU for preparing Tender documents, and update or review tender working drawings for civil/building projects implemented by the directorate.
e) Supervise and monitor civil and building projects assigned, including the preparation of regular project performance/accomplishment reports.
f) Evaluate certificates of payments of Consultants and Contractors for certification by Head of department before submission of the same to the directorate of finance to effect payments.
g) Assist in preparing and ensuring safe custody of “as built” drawings for future references by the company.
h) Enhance safety matters in the section to ensure safety to employees, customers and equipment.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
 Holder of Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (structural and buildings) or equivalent from recognized institution
 Must be Registered by Engineers Registration Board

5. POSITION: ELECTRICAL TECHNICIANS (2 POSTS) 

REPORTS TO: ENGINEER
REPORTING OFFICE: MTWARA GAS PLANT

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Implements all scheduled activities and work plans including, construction and maintenance of distribution networks effectively and efficiently.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Construct and maintain distribution lines network in accordance with the company procedures and standards to ensure access to electricity is maximized.
b) Inspect customers' installations to ensure standards set for safety and quality of installations are met and security of supply is guaranteed.
c) Assist supervisor/engineer in preparing short & long term plans construction/maintenance schedules for expansion of distribution network to increase the pace of electrification.

d) Closely monitor load growth on secondary sub-station through periodic measurement to ensure that distribution lines and equipment’s are not overloaded.
e) To conduct routine inspection of distribution lines and perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure continuity of supply to customers is maintained.
f) Record periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
 Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering from recognized institution
 Secondary School Certificates - Form IV and/or VI.
 A driving licence class C, C1, C2 and E will be an added advantage.

6. POSITION: MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN (6 POSTS) 

REPORTS TO: STATION SUPERVISOR
REPORTING OFFICE: KIBONDO POWER STATION - KIGOMA (1) & MTWARA GAS PLANT (5)

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for ensuring running of machines/ all plant equipment as pertained to their functional procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Ensures that preventive maintenance of all plants/ equipment is being followed and carried out as per schedules and keep maintenance records, equipment status updating and submit work reports after repairs or preventive maintenance.
b) Identifies all faults/ defects of the equipment and carry out repairs to improve plant availability.
c) Advises Plant Supervisor on matters regarding major repairs and overhaul of the plant and equipment.
d) Prepares drawings and specification of new works to be undertaken.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:
 FTC or Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Recognized institution
 Secondary School Certificates - Form IV and/or VI.

7. POSITION: ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN - SYSTEM OPERATOR (3 POSTS)
REPORTS TO: SUBSTATION ENGINEER/SYSTEM CONTROL SUPERVISOR
REPORTING OFFICE: IRINGA - MGOLOLO SUBSTATION (1), KILIMANJARO - KIYUNGI SUBSTATION (1) & KAGERA - KIBETA SUBSTATION (1).

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Grid System monitoring to ensure that a continuous and reliable flow of electric power supply from generating plants to various places of grid destination and distribution points are maintained.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Collect all necessary initial technical data in the daily log sheets and defect register book.
b) Issue permits to work, limitation of access, sanction of test after proper isolation of equipment at switch yard before people start working to ensure highest safety standards are observed and maintained all the times in order to preserve life and property.
c) Maintain close liaison with Grid Control Centre (SCADA), generating plants station and other grid substation operators to ensure smooth restoration of power supply in case of system power failure.
d) Report a day recorded shift events to system control supervisor to ensure the higher authority get informed for record and action.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
 Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering from recognized institution
 Secondary School Certificates - Form IV and/or VI.

8. POSITION : PERSONAL SECRETARY - 1 POST  

REPORTS TO : PLANT MANAGER
 REPORTING OFFICE : MTWARA GAS PLANT

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Administer and up keep the office of the Plant Manager and ensures secretarial and administrative activities are performed smoothly and effectively.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(a) Type and prepare/draft various documents accurately, timely and in accordance with the specific needs for which the document is required.
(b) Effective maintenance of electronic and manual filing systems and updated index to ensure proper maintenance of records and easy retrieval of documents.
(c) Organize meetings and events according to the needs of the Manager.
(d) Make travel arrangements for the Manager and other staff in the region.

(e) Performs administrative and clerical functions as assigned by the Manager.
(f) Maintain a diary of appointment, advice and remind the Manager of the same to ensure smooth running of the office.
(g) Respond to all enquiries to ensure informative replies to stakeholders.
(h) Prepare purchase requisition to ensure adequate availability of office supplies at all times.
(i) Responsible for dispatching and receiving of reports, parcels and letters to ensure good management of the office.
(j) Attending visitors to ensure that they are friendly received and attended to.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB
 Holder of Form four/Form six certificate
 Diploma in Secretarial from recognized institution.
 Typing speed 50WPM.  Office Practice stage II

 Fluent in both English and Kiswahili  Experience: 2 years’ experience from reputable organisation.
